Off-Price Show Is More Important with Each SeasonOff-Price Specialist Center surveyed show-goers at the February 2009 Off-Price Specialist Show (part of Las Vegas Fashion Week). Here are post-show results from the survey conducted between February 24 and March 6, 2009:1. Most Impressive Statistic? Only 2% (two percent) of respondants felt that this February 2009 show didn't meet any of their buying needs. A significant 58% (fifty-eight percent) of participating buyers reported that the February 09 Off Price Show met all of -- or exceeded -- their buying needs. The remaining 40% expressed "Satisfaction" in meeting some of their buying needs. "These numbers were consistent with the surveys we've conducted from previous shows," said David Lapidos, Group Vice President for the Off Price Specialist Center. "That buying activity at our show continues to be strong during these 'unique' market conditions is a sign of our critical value to the apparel retail sector." 2. How Much of In-Store Merchandise Purchased at Off Price Of all respondants, 21.5% claim that more than 10% of their in-store merchandise is purchased at the Off Price Show. * 25.7% purchase more than 25% of their inventory at Off-Price Show; * 13.6% purchase more than 50%; * 7.3% purchase more than 75% of in-store inventory at Off-Price. Preferred New Vendor Sourcing ... 45.2% consider Off Price Show to be their preferred method for sourcing new vendors. 3. Of Interest to New Vendors and Sellers ...
